This painting is my interpretation of portion of the piece Pallas and the Centaur by Sandro Botticelli. The original painting was created around 1498 as part of a Florentine for Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de'Medici  as a wedding gift from his cousin. It's not shown in my work but on her robes there is symbolism to the coming together of families with an intertwining of diamond rings. Sandro made many beautiful and detailed paintings of men and women during the early Renaissance era. However, this one stood out to me because of her the color palette and pure natural beauty of the woman, plus it's still very detailed but easy enough to re-create within a time limit. I learned a lot about anatomy, building up a painting with layers, and how to replicate art while still making something true to your own style.
