I did this illustration during my junior year of high school in 2018 and it helped me in the future way more than I originally thought it would. I was able to enter it into a couple of art shows for my last two years of high school and won an award each time! The first was at the Jacoby Art Center in Aton, IL which has a show featuring only local high schooler's art, and I got Best in 2-D! The other show was the High School Art Competition in the Belleville, IL during the Art on the Square event, and I got an Award of Merit! This piece and the events I got to go to because of it made me so much more confident as an artist. I'm so lucky to have teachers back then and now that push me to do my best and get me into these shows so I could see just a portion of what the art world is like and prepare me for a career in art and design.
